IINS: Eyewitness Accounts

Caine Riordan’s departure and apprehension

Images of Caine Riordan’s departure from the Perry City external charter service, and subsequent apprehension at the edge of the Far Side, near Security and Cargo Transfer Point 2.

As indicated in the image data-line at the lower right corner of each photo, these two images span roughly a four-hour period on September 13, 2105. The first shows the last image from Caine Riordan’s helmet cam, which he turned off just prior to slipping away from his two escorts who were attempting to repair their very outdated rover (it remains unresolved whether the vehicle was disabled by serendipity or Riordan’s purposeful tinkering). Riordan, whose travel to Luna had been funded and arranged by the IINN, proceeded swiftly toward a Far Side construction site in an attempt to gather more information about the activities there. The last image is from the Security camera that monitored Point 2; in it, a red-armbanded security overseer is questioning Riordan (who neither attempted to resist nor flee when detected). The photos, being taken from non-professional cameras, reveal numerous unusual failings: anti-glare filters removed stars from the spacefield, and the degraded color sensitivity necessitated recolorization to meet customary journalistic image standards.
